Diabetes
Approximately 16 million Americans have diabetes, a chronic disorder affecting the body’s regulation of blood sugar. Only half of those with diabetes know they have it. Many do not discover their condition until they develop life-threatening complications.
Diabetes is the fourth leading cause of death by disease. As of yet, there is no cure for diabetes. Patient education is critical, and good control requires frequent monitoring by a skilled, knowledgeable healthcare team trained with the latest information. The Diabetes Management Center is that team.
