Emergency Medicine Residency Program
Welcome to the Coliseum Medical Centers Emergency Medicine Residency Program! The primary goal of our program is to provide a strong clinical foundation, instill a sense of community and professionalism, while developing future academic and community leaders…Above all else we are dedicate to the care and improvement of human life!
Coliseum Medical Centers is a 301-bed acute care hospital located in Macon Georgia. The Emergency Department houses a Sepsis Certified and Advanced Primary Stroke Center. Additionally the hospital was voted 2019 "Best of the Best" Best Medical Facility in Macon as well as obtaining a Leapfrog "A" grade for patient safety. In addition, Coliseum Medical Centers' services include specialty facilities such as the Coliseum Heart Institute, Advanced Cardiac Center and open heart surgery, Coliseum Robotics Institute, Coliseum Cancer Institute, Family Ties Birthing Center and the Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health. We are the only Emergency Medicine residency in Georgia outside Metro Atlanta or Augusta.
Our Emergency Medicine faculty provide high-quality patient care with years of experience in emergency medicine including point of care ultrasound, environmental and toxicological emergencies, tactical medicine, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, emergency medical services and aeromedical services. Each is dedicated to educating and mentoring residents through didactic, clinical, and research experiences.
We are affiliated with Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM). With this affiliation, faculty and residents have access to library resources and support. Residents play an integral role in medical students teaching and mentorship. All of our Core Faculty have academic appointments to MUSM.
Coliseum Medical Centers shares a state of the art Simulation Center through our affiliation with MUSM. The simulation curriculum aids residents in mastering skills in a safe and interactive environment.
