Macon, GA – In addition to the outstanding service the Volunteers at Coliseum Health System provide to the patients and staff within Coliseum Health System’s three facilities – Coliseum Medical Centers, Coliseum Northside Hospital, and Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health – they are also focused on impacting lives within the community that supports Coliseum Health System.
The Volunteers run and manage two gift shops, The Window Box at Coliseum Medical Centers and The Gift Shop at Coliseum Northside Hospital. With profits made from these two gift shops, as well as specialty sales throughout the year, the volunteers raise money to give back to the community. This year, it was decided that a scholarship program would be included in the volunteer’s initiative of giving back.
Three recent high school graduates were awarded Monday, June 23, 2014 with a $1,000 scholarship to the college or university that they plan to attend as they begin their studies in a healthcare-related field. Cortlyn Belvin, Kikelola Afolabi-Brown, and Miranda Windham were the three students selected to receive recognition for their work ethic and dedication to a future in healthcare.
