Coliseum Northside Hospital will host a free event called Put Your Best Foot Forward to discuss the importance of proper footwear and the role it plays with orthopedic problems. The event will be held in the First Floor Conference Room at Coliseum Northside Hospital on Wednesday September 11 from 10:00 a.m. - Noon.
Marcus Simmons, MD, Medical Director for Rehabilitation at Coliseum Health System, said, “Not paying attention to the well-being of your feet can lead to serious orthopedic problems or foot-related issues, which impact balance and walking. Orthotic footwear can help maintain stable positioning for the bones in the feet and the ligaments in the ankles, ensure proper alignment in the hips and lower back, and reduce pain.”
Vendors will be onsite to discuss the importance of footwear and the role it plays with orthotics as well as provide individual assessments. Additionally, there will be discussion about proper compression therapy for healthy veins, leg swelling and skin conditions.
