The Frist Humanitarian Awards are given annually in recognition of the humanitarian spirit and philanthropic work of the late Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Sr., a founder of HCA. Samuel Pitts, Jr., Coliseum Medical Centers’ employee, and Edna Johnston, Coliseum Medical Centers’ volunteer, were recently awarded Coliseum Health System’s 2009 Frist Humanitarian Awards.
